Services
Designing for the way a home is actually lived in.
Tro Architecture works on three core service areas, each shaped to the realities of serious injury, clinical negligence and Court of Protection work. Whether the project begins with a question about a property, a brief from a case manager, or a clinical need that has outgrown an existing home, we can pick up the work at the right point.
New build adapted homes
A purpose-designed home, drawn from the inside out around the client and their support arrangements.
We begin with a careful brief, taken alongside the client, family, occupational therapist and case manager. From there, we develop the design that resolves clinical need, future flexibility and the quieter requirements of family life into a single coherent home. Sightlines, daylight, acoustics, thresholds, circulation and the placement of care and therapy spaces are all considered as part of the same conversation.
Outputs typically include:
Adaptations and Extensions
Reshaping an existing home so it meets new needs without losing the things that already make it home.
Many clients prefer to remain in a home full of memory and routine. The work then is to adapt that home with care, finding the smallest set of changes that delivers the largest improvement in daily life. We survey carefully, design conservatively, and protect the character of the existing house wherever we can.
Outputs typically include:
Schedules of works and tender support
Prices written and drawn record what is to be built, so that the project can be priced accurately and built to specification.
A good schedule of work does two things. It gives contractors the information they need to price accurately, and it gives the client and the wider team confidence that what is agreed on paper will arrive on site. We prepare schedules that are unambiguous, accurately drawn, and written in a language all parties can understand.
Outputs typically include:
Working with the professional team
On every instruction, Tro Architecture works as part of a wider team. We are used to the rhythms of case management, the requirements of the Court of Protection, and the evidential standards expected by solicitors and deputies. Our drawings, schedules and reports are produced with that audience in mind.
If you would like to discuss a property, an adaptation, a new build, or a tender that needs steadying, the practice is happy to hear from you. We will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit and, if not, point you towards someone who is.
